Okay, we know that being pregnant isn’t always easy.  Motivating yourself to exercise when you’re feeling tired and heavy, the evenings are dark and the focus is on Christmas not pregnancy fitness can be difficult.
So to help keep you strong and active during your pregnancy we’d love to share the zeal and enthusiasm of some of our inspiring FittaMammas and Pregnant Not Powerless Ambassadors!

Dame Sarah Storey14x Gold Medal Paralympian:

“Staying fit and healthy in pregnancy is important for so many reasons. Your baby will benefit from you being fit and healthy as they are less likely to struggle with their own weight as they grow. The other positives are to the way you feel. Exercise helps with confidence and the endorphins provide that sense of happiness and calm. I trained throughout my first pregnancy and am following a similar plan this time too. It’s important to be safe, not overheat or get dehydrated but don’t be afraid to raise your heart rate if you feel comfortable doing so. Listening to your body, wearing suitable clothing and having a smile on your face are my 3 top tips for exercise in pregnancy.”

Laura GimbertHealth, fitness and lifestyle influencer:

“I was a health and fitness freak before getting pregnant and I knew that pregnancy wasn’t going to stop me. The benefits of regular exercise during pregnancy are unlimited and women should not be scared of being active while pregnant, whatever the activity may be. If anything, we should feel more motivated to exercise, for a healthier pregnancy and baby!”

Charlotte RobertsonUK Elite Pole Champion:

“Staying active during pregnancy isn’t about how hard you push but about moving your body to create a healthier future for you and your baby. I exercised before being pregnant to make me feel good so why wouldn’t I continue for the same reasons during!? I am now working at a way lower intensity, but it’s still gives me that feel good factor… Listen to your body and do what feels good for you! Here’s to being #PregnantNotPowerless”

Meredith B. KesslerProfessional Triathlete:

“Stamina. Fortitude. Gumption. Gusto. These are some of many traits that we ALL strive to embrace as humans every day in effort to THRIVE in LIFE. Fitness is a lifestyle, one that does not need to be completely compromised in pregnancy and instead needs to continue to soar and prosper. An active, healthy, fit and motivated pregnancy allows women to grow a healthier life blooming inside of them. A strong, balanced and energetic woman who maintains quality fitness during pregnancy is one that relays her zest and positive energy to her child. We ARE indeed PREGNANT and thus, we ARE absolutely POWERFUL”

Mirella IngamellsPhysique and lifestyle coach, fitness model and trainer:

“Becoming pregnant presented me with a brand-new challenge: staying fit, getting my new body strong, and working on a healthy mindset, which embraced all the physical changes. While there are certain things you should take into consideration, there is no reason why you can’t continue with an active lifestyle whilst creating your little miracle… it is actually healthier for both you and your baby.”

Carly PinchinHealth coach and personal trainer:

“Training & staying fit while pregnant not only benefits you, but it benefits your baby, & makes your baby fit too! I think it is important for women to know that everybody’s fitness levels are different, and that although walking and light activity is enough for some expecting moms, other moms are used to higher intensity & heavier weight lifting exercises, allowing them to continue training at a more intense level throughout their pregnancy!”
